Hello everyone,

As we approach what I hope will be one of the most exciting moments in the history of Pickleball Moncton, I feel it is important to share something with you.

At our upcoming AGM, I will not be seeking another term as President.

This has not been an easy decision, but it is one I believe is right for both me and for the club. More importantly, it means that one of the most important priorities facing Pickleball Moncton today is finding a new President and continuing to strengthen our Board and volunteer team.

Over the last five years, a dedicated group of volunteers has helped build Pickleball Moncton from an idea into one of the largest and most successful pickleball clubs in Atlantic Canada. More recently, we have worked tirelessly to help secure the club's future following the unexpected loss of our facility.

Today, we are in a strong position. However, the continued success of the club will depend on members who are willing to step forward and lead.

Pickleball Moncton is a member-owned, volunteer-driven organization. Facilities, programs, leagues, tournaments, and social events do not happen on their own. They happen because members choose to get involved and contribute.

I want to be clear: I am not walking away from the club. I will remain a member, volunteer, supporter, and enthusiastic advocate for Pickleball Moncton. However, after serving as President since the club's inception, and after helping guide the club through its most significant challenge to date, I believe the time has come for someone else to take the baton and lead the next phase of our journey.

If you have ever considered becoming more involved, I encourage you to consider serving on the Board or putting your name forward for a leadership position. In particular, we are seeking a President who is passionate about our club and willing to help shape its future.

Anyone interested in learning more about the President's role or Board opportunities is encouraged to contact Gerry Williamson at: email.gerry.williamson@gmail.com

The tradition of volunteer leadership is what built this club, and it is what will ensure its future. Our next chapter, if we are to move forward, will require new leaders, new ideas, and continued member involvement.

Thank you for the trust, support, encouragement, and friendship you have shown me over the past five years. It has been most rewarding.

I look forward to watching Pickleball Moncton continue to grow and succeed for many years to come.

Paddle up!
